Born in Wisconsin, he was raised on hippie communes and Indian reservations of the pacific Northwest. His first experience before the camera was at age 5, on "Romper Room", where he also met Edgar Bergan and Charlie McCarthy. He became a professional ventriloquist by the age of 11 and was creating his own animated and short films in his spare time. His fascination with physical development began as a way to overcome acute shyness, which developed from abuse he suffered as a child. He arrived in Hollywood in 1983, taking assorted television roles, including winning the game show "The Dating Game". Known for his creative abilities, he became a producer for the Disney/Touchstone organization among several other production companies. His strategy to succeed as an actor was to learn all aspects of the industry first, beginning with employment as a production assistant and eventually becoming the lead casting director for a series on the Showtime network. He is a character actor, most widely known for the late 90s television series "Conan", where he played the fierce yet sensitive sidekick, Zzeben. He is a produced writer for both television and feature films, and a highly respected artist. His sculptures range from large scale designs that have become landmarks, to smaller, mechanical sculptures, which are coveted by private collectors and professional performers around the world. He left Hollywood in 2003, after the tragic death of his close friend, for a life off-grid in the rugged mountains of norther Idaho, returning to the Entertainment Industry in 2014. His charitable causes include support groups and organizations that help adult survivors of child abuse.- Lucia Carroll was born on 16 November 1916 in Wausau, Wisconsin, USA. Virginia Welles, born Virginia Francine Welter, was an American actress who had ingenue roles, primarily at Paramount Pictures, where she was under contract, in the late 1940s. She was a native of Wausau, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Phyllis (Wheldon) Welter. Her father was a theatre manager. While still in high school, she was noticed by a Hollywood talent scout while attending the wedding of her sister Gwen in California. The scout sought permission to do a screen test for Virginia. Her parents agreed, but Virginia chose to complete high school and attend Stephens College in Missouri, where she studied under the great American stage actress Maude Adams. She finally went to Hollywood to follow up on her screen test and was given a part in Columbia's _Kiss and Tell (1945)_ (qv and renamed Virginia Welles). Subsequently she was signed to a contract by Paramount Pictures and made a handful of films there throughout the remainder of the 1940s. Dropped by Paramount in 1949, she freelanced for a couple of years before retiring from the movies in 1951. She made one final film in 1956, as well as a few infrequent television appearances throughout the 1950s, but was essentially retired. She had married automotive financier Henry George Stix Kuh in 1949. They divorced in 1977, five years after an automobile accident seriously injured their daughter Patsy. Virginia Wells Kuh spent thirty years caring for her daughter, until Virginia's death in 2002.- Actor
